Can I get just one remote to control all of my equipment?
Q
A
Yes, we have found that the Harmony remotes by Logitec answers that question easily.  They are one of our best selling products because they work so well when set up properly. Even if you get confused, they have a get you out of trouble Help system. And they will virtually operate any device that has infrared commands.
We find that a lot of people are still unsure of what the term "Surround Sound" actually means. It is real simple. It is the processing of sound through different channels to co-ordinate the sound as to what is happening in the video picture. Most of the dialogue will come from the center channel speaker because they usually show who is speaking on the screen. If a car drives from the left of the screen to the right of the screen, the sound will have the same action, starting from the left speaker then to the center and on to the right speaker. The same concept is used as the director designs his sceens and adds sound effects to enhance the movement and realism to his pictures. Sound can go from front to back, left back to front right and so on. To finish out the realism, a sub woofer is used to give dynamics effects as in explosions, thunder etc.

A lot of the answer to this question is your what your viewing habits are, where you are going use it and what your main purpose of use. If you are setting up a home theater type room, you would want to consider a front screen projector to achieve the "Big Picture" effect or a large rear projector. If your looking to have a good size picture in a family room area, say between 42" to 50", then a plasma would probably be your best choice unless you watch a lot of tv with logos are bars on the screen, like Bloomberg, CNN, FOX News, etc. as leaving the same image on all the time could lead to a burn in image. The same goes for video games. In that case you would probably want to choose a LCD Display. If an area requires a smaller screen, say under 42", then you would want to choose a LCD in that they do not currently make the smaller screen sizes in a plasma. While the LCD displays have a very good picture, a quality plasma will provide a higher level of brightness and better off axis viewing especialy in a well lit room.

A lot of people might be surprised to see how competitive Poston Electronics is on what we call "A" (new, current higher quality models) products. No, we are not competitive on low end, yesterday's close-outs, and dump models, we just don't offer that type of product. Sometimes while a customer is in our  store and question whether or not  they are getting a competitive price, we are happy to go to the "BIg Box" stores web-site and get their price, no problem. Fact is, most "B B" outlets do not discount  the price much on their better products. Stay Tuned, in the near future there will be an article on our FYI pages about tricks of the trade and how buying from a "Big Box" store may not be your best buy.
